Guardians of the Seas
To support UN SDG 14 and address marine environment degradation, we collaborate with community members and volunteers in a year-round coastal cleanup activity as part of our marine environment conservation project.We also encourage ASE employees and diving enthusiasts to join the ASE Environmental Scuba Dive Team and participate in ocean and coastal clean-up activities to protect marine life and preserve biodiversity.

ASEH and subsidiaries practice inclusive recruitment, no discrimination, follow laws, ethics, and human rights; no forced labor.
ASEH is committed to biodiversity conservation, aligning with UN goals such as SDG14 and SDG15. They've adopted the TNFD-LEAP approach to assess biodiversity risks in Taiwan and are planning to expand these efforts globally. Their subsidiary, SPIL, is taking proactive steps by not only complying with regulations but also restoring nearby parklands with native vegetation and community engagement, setting an example for ecological restoration.
Global Lighthouse Network
ASEH employed WRI Aqueduct and NASA data for global water risk analysis, identifying vulnerable areas and enabling climate adaptation.
ASEH initiated its Industry 4.0 journey nearly a decade ago, forming the Industry Automation Committee. They've achieved milestones like lights-out factories, AI integration, and a 5G smart factory. ASE Kaohsiung is a leader, using 4IR tech for a 67% output increase and 39% lead time reduction, joining the WEF Global Lighthouse Network in 2023. ASEH prioritizes sustainable smart manufacturing amidst industry challenges.
Innovation in Circular Economy
ASEH follows TCFD, disclosing climate financials, emphasizing ops, innovation, value chain, net zero goals, inspiring climate leadership in others.
In 2022, ASEH established ASE Social Enterprise for sustainability. They're improving employee welfare, promoting smart recycling, and fostering a circular business model. Their environmental foundation engages employees in ocean cleanups and tree planting, encouraging social responsibility and community participation.
Net-zero Initiative
ASEH follows TCFD, disclosing climate financials, emphasizing ops, innovation, value chain, net zero goals, inspiring climate leadership in others.
ASEH, validated by the SBTi, targets a 35% reduction in Scope 1 and 2 emissions (from 2016) and 15% in Scope 3 emissions (from 2020) by 2030. They're working toward Net Zero 2050 and will introduce carbon pricing and five action plans across subsidiaries. Collaboration with value chain partners and customers for renewable energy procurement is a focus.
Sustainable Impact of Smart Factories
ASEH began investing in automated, lights-out factories in 2015 with the goal of driving digital transformation and building customer trust through three key areas: automation, heterogeneous machine integration, and heterogeneous system integration. In 2022, its Kaohsiung bumping facility joined the World Economic Forum's Global Lighthouse Network, marking another major milestone.
